Edition 000- An Invitation

Welcome

Welcome to A Million Scattered Pieces.

This publication is an ongoing home for photography, writing, music, visual research, and the small observations that often become the beginning of larger ideas. Some editions will be quiet and personal. Others will explore design, collaboration, technology, archives, neighborhoods, or the creative process. Together, they form a growing collection of connected pieces rather than a single story.

The title comes from a simple belief: meaning is rarely found all at once. It emerges through returning, noticing, and allowing seemingly unrelated fragments to reveal their relationships over time. This newsletter is an invitation into that practice.

Edition 000 is exactly that—an invitation. Before introducing Lemon Juice in depth, I wanted to create a place to pause, share a few photographs from Maine, and begin establishing the rhythm of this publication. Think of it as the front porch before stepping inside the studio.

What to Expect

Future editions may include:

  • Photography and visual essays

  • Notes from ongoing research

  • Design and creative process

  • Collaborations and conversations

  • Reflections on technology and AI

  • Neighborhood observations and field notes

  • Books, artists, and ideas worth sharing

  • Occasional experiments that don't fit neatly anywhere else

There is no strict formula, only a commitment to publishing thoughtfully and with care.

While Making This

Every edition will be accompanied by a curated playlist.

Music has always been part of how I work—shaping pace, atmosphere, and attention while photographs are edited, notes are written, or ideas slowly take form. Rather than serving as a soundtrack after the fact, these playlists are companions to the work itself. I hope they offer another way to enter the same landscape from a different direction.

Looking Ahead

Edition 001 will formally introduce Lemon Juice: the ideas that shaped the practice, the values that guide it, the role photography, design, and research play within it, and why I believe careful observation remains one of our most valuable creative tools. It will also share how this publication fits into that larger vision and invite readers into the work that follows.

Thank you for being here at the beginning. I'm grateful you've chosen to spend a little time among these scattered pieces, and I hope you'll return as the collection continues to grow.
